Acer palmatum 'Baby Lace Lexington' Laceleaf Japanese Maple Zones 5-9 In the spring, 'Baby Lace Lexington' leafs out with a bright orange-red dissected leaves that mature to a bronze green-red. Fall color can range from a bright yellow to orange to red. 'Baby Lace Lexington' is a fairly vigorous growing weeping selection. Of types of Japanese maples that fall in the "Ornatum-like" category, this is the largest and fastest growing type reaching around 6 ft in height by 8 ft in width in 10 years. 'Baby Lace Lexington' is an extremely rare selection of Japanese maple that was introduced by Dr. Robert Munger of Boxerwood Arboretum in Lexington, VA. Originally this tree was named 'Baby Lace', but "Lexington" was added to the name of this Japanese maple to differentiate from a duplicate tree in the nursery trade by that name.
