I first started working with Barbie in 1985 in Mattel's Samples Department. In 1988 I began writing toy fair scripts, videos, marketing skits, custom songs and other creative for Barbie at Mattel. My first email address was mrbarbie@aol.com and you can still reach me there.  This is the famous Bob Mackie Platinum Barbie, 3rd in the 1991 series. Platinum Barbie wears a fabulous platinum-white gown and brocade coat featuring over 8000 hand-sewn sequins, beads, and crystals. Her platinum blonde hair is twisted into an exquisite updo, accented by "jewels". Not only has the doll never been removed from the package, but the package has only been removed from the original shipping carton in order to photograph the contents.
