"User Compliance" reflects my thoughts on our complicated relationship with nature in the modern era and the role AI plays in shaping that connection. Inspired by the idea of a "green thumb," the piece questions whether our efforts to control the natural world only push us further away from it. As AI becomes more integrated into my creative process, I find myself grappling with its impact—on a personal level, it has improved my workflow and opened exciting new avenues for artistic exploration. At the same time, while AI offers the potential to solve extraordinary challenges like climate change, it consumes vast natural resources along the way. Will technology help us save the planet, or is the cost too high?
