Item Number: P95 Size: 8 3/4" (22.2cm) (Louisa) [1591-1660]. Born in Paris. She wished to become a nun, but on the advice of her confessor, married Antony Le Gras. After his death in 1625, Louise spent the rest of her life helping St. Vincent de Paul and cooperating with him in establishing the Sisters of Charity. The Sisters took their vows for the first time in 1638 and Louise remained their superior until her death. She was canonized in 1934 and is patron of social workers. Her feast is March 15.
