The BibleThe Bible claims to be the Word of God, written by prophets and apostles of God. A prophet was a messenger and servant of the Lord who said what God told him to say, nothing more and nothing less. It is the inspired Word of God. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). By the term “inspired” you must trust that the Holy Spirit exerted his supernatural influence upon the writers. The writings were inspired—not necessarily the writers. The Bible never claims to have been written by inspired men. The ultimate author of the Bible is the Holy Spirit. The main thing to keep in mind here is that no Scripture is a matter of private opinion. And why?
