It is an honor to share a part of my story with you.I was a typical American kid who celebrated holidays for the trick-or-treating, Santa Claus, or the Easter bunny. Our family did not go to church or talk about God.My parents divorced when I was in 5th grade (10 years old). After the divorce, my dad became too busy with his new life that he often forgot about me. Because of this, I struggled with rejection. I hung out with the rough crowd when I was a teenager and made a lot of bad decisions. I always felt alone and insecure, and I was searching to be loved, which led me to unhealthy relationships and things that would help fill the void of emptiness. In 1989, a classmate asked me if I believed in God. I remember saying, “If He is real, He will need to show Himself to me.”In college I occasionally attended a church with my mom. Something sparked in my heart and I found myself searching for what I thought was the right church. I found a great church in 1996 that preached the gospel. I
