1st Shot As outdoorsmen, we get to enjoy the sights and sounds of God’s great outdoors more than most people. There is nothing more exciting than getting the opportunity to take that trophy buck or land that record catch. There is also nothing more disappointing than “ALMOST” getting it. “Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian” (Acts 26:28). 2nd Shot Just like outdoorsmen have all missed that shot or lost that catch, we have all missed the mark of being good enough for Heaven. No matter how hard we try, missing is missing. “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). When we come short on our “shot” here, we look forward to next time. Friend, you may not have a next time to get right with God. “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). 3rd Shot When we miss our mark here, our pride may get hurt.
