My kids (ages 2 & 4) bring home A LOT of special pieces of artwork from daycare, but it's the ones that have their handprint, footprint, photo, or handwriting that I tend to keep.  Well, this DIY project has both photo AND handwriting features!   Perfect for Birthdays, Mother's Day, Grandparent's Day, Valentine's Day, or just because!Here are several things that makes this project special: Two layers of unfinished wood to paint.  Kids can be super messy, but as long as you use different colors on each layer it will look good once assembled.  No need to stay inside of any lines! It's a photo frame!   Opening is approximately 4"x4" so typically a trimmed down 4x6 photo will work best. Typically shouldn't matter if original photo was taken in portrait or landscape mode as long as it's printed as a 4x6 it should work.  Top whiteboard piece allows child to trace the message "I Love U" over the faint engraved dotted letters.
