The Insectary The Insectary is a place where insects are kept, exhibited, and studied. "I took photos with my digital camera of various types of insects, then I uploaded them into my computer. The insects were isolated from their original backgrounds and then I manipulated the isolated insect images in various ways using Photoshop. Combinations of insects were overlaid into many different kinds of abstract configurations, cut into pieces, and collaged in unexpected ways forming never before seen composites. In most cases, the original colors of the insects were also changed", Michael Jantzen.
