THE LEGEND BEHIND THE WORK Time Traveler is a kinetic motion portrait by Cory Skyler Drouillard that reimagines Pablo Picasso not through stillness, but through movement—traveling beyond his cubist breakthroughs into an imagined continuum of time, art, and connection. Rooted in the mystery of Sada Yacco—the famed geisha whom Picasso is believed to have photographed and sketched—this digital loop positions their encounter as a spark. Whether admiration from afar or deeper infatuation, her image becomes a portal. A bus found in Old Car City transforms into a symbolic time machine, launching Picasso through dimensions layered with his own work and fragmented vision. As the tenth installment in the Modern Movement Art series, Time Traveler unravels Picasso’s legacy as a man chasing movement—through brushstroke, through lens, and now, through time.
