The association, founded by Alexandre Emerich, now represents more than 36,000 growers across 275,000 hectares of land and directly and indirectly employs over 200,000 people. This coffee is from a Single Estate within Matas de Minas, and utilizes a semi-washed process. Semi-washed (also known as pulped natural process) is a popular processing technique in Brazil, where green coffee cherries are wet-pulped and then laid to sun dry with the cherry's mucilage still intact.
