On this particular day, there were over a dozen artists painting views of the houses on the bluff overlooking the beach, so I looked the other way and spotted this scene. The little rowboat had been sitting on the shore just long enough to let the flowering vines start climbing over the edge. When I saw the red boat against the green plants, I knew this was a scene that was ‘ready and waiting’ to be painted!
