This painting shows a mother and child who reside at the CHiPs Francis Residence. It's a temporary home for pregnant women and children who are homeless and in need of shelter, while they look for permanent housing. This piece is part of my upcoming exhibition – The Faces of CHiPs - What if God lived in Gowanus? – a series of studies and portraits of the people of CHiPs, a soup kitchen/residence that has served my neighborhood for 50 years. All proceeds from sales of paintings and prints will be donated to CHiPs to further their mission. This 22" x 18" original is framed in a simple black frame with a white mat. The size of the framed piece is 33" x 27".
