The inaugural 2014 vintage of C. Elizabeth Cabernet Sauvignon was Goosecross' first opportunity to work with fruit from the exceptional "Rock Pit" block within the Game Farm Vineyard, located on the southeastern corner of the Oakville AVA. It was also their first time aging wine in exclusively American Oak - an important component in the C. Elizabeth team's winemaking vision. The team trialed and tasted a myriad of blends throughout aging. These trials enabled them to further hone which barrel lots moved them closest to achieving their winemaking vision - one that would allow grape and place to shine through with a judicious underpinning of oak for structure.
