The barrier island dressings are used as a primary or secondary dressings. The dressings are non-adherent, occlusive gauze composite, and bordered for wounds that produce light to moderate exudation. These units are conformable, occlusive and flexible which helps to protect the wound environment from outside contamination. To enhance wearability the dressings are flexible, comfortable and soft. The film backing is water-resistant which serves as an effective barrier to permit showering and prevent outside contamination. Offers the convenience of an all-in-one dressing by combining an absorbent non-adherent central gauze pad surrounded by a breathable adhesive border, with a polyurethane film barrier.
