These five diaphragms are referred to as “TFP” or transmission fluid pressure switches and they are located within the TEHCM. The computer uses these switches to fine tune the clutch-to-clutch shift sequencing and to maintain shift adaption values. The diaphragms can become compromised due to contamination after a hard part failure within the unit. The diaphragms can also rupture or split, and the rubber seal that retains them can blow out.
