Temperament: Generally peaceful with similarly sized or larger tank mates, but predatory toward smaller fish. They are not aggressive but will eat what they can catch. Tank Setup: Requires a very large aquarium (at least 180 gallons for juveniles and more as they grow) with a soft sand or fine gravel substrate. Provide large caves, driftwood, and dim lighting to mimic their natural riverbed habitat. Strong filtration is essential due to their size and waste production.
