Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye
Jack Daniel’s whiskey speaks for itself. It’s an iconic American brand, rewarding hard work, perseverance, and ingenuity to make a product that stands the test of time. These bottles come from a one-of-a-kind single barrel Jack Daniel’s rye. Whiskey enthusiasts have been begging for Jack Daniel’s to release their rye whiskey at barrel strength — meaning no water was added to dilute the precious whiskey when sent to be bottled. This year, the distillery decided to let a select number of barrels to be selected to be released at cask strength. Will and Greeze from the PodCask caught wind, and knew that this would be the perfect second whiskey to pick in honor of the Special Forces Foundation. Their first barrel in honor of the Special Forces Foundation, several years back, was of Eagle Rare, and is widely claimed as one of the best single barrels. That barrel was picked to honor the memory of Master Sargent Michael Riley, and included a member of his team on the tasting panel. When the folks at Jack Daniel’s learned this would be in honor of the Special Forces Foundation, they wanted to make this special. They ensured that this would be one of the first ever barrels of cask strength rye ever picked, and Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Chris Fletcher himself lead the team through the tasting of these hand picked honey barrels. The tasting panel included Will and Greeze, and their barrel picking partners Bob Little and James Smith — who have picked coveted single barrels, that collectors fork over thousands of dollars to obtain. This whiskey is rare and coveted, and when it’s gone it’s gone. The team that picked it knew that these bottles would be in high demand, so they wanted to make sure it was picked for a good cause. It was picked with the express purpose to support the mission of the Special Forces Foundation.
