Crushed Blue Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Sand from Arizona, Medium Sand (0.25mm-2mm)

This highly sought after, sky-blue turquoise is sourced from the Sleeping Beauty Mine in Globe, Arizona. Like many of the older turquoise mines, the claim was for producing copper in the late 1800s, and the turquoise was a surprise byproduct. As one of the most prolific types of turquoise from the American Southwest, Sleeping Beauty turquoise is known for its brilliant blue color with little to no matrix or host rock. While this mine produced a large amount of turquoise over the years, the mine was eventually closed in 2012.  This top-grade crushed turquoise is not chalky, nor has it been treated or stabilized and has superior blue color when wet or sealed with an adhesive. This crushed material is very clean and would be a great addition to your higher-end custom projects. Turquoise is also one of the official birthstones for December.
