Purple jade, commonly referred to as lavender jade, is a rare mineral that is only found in two localities: Turkey and Myanmar. Lavender jade is an uncommon form of jadeite, a pyroxene mineral, which derives its distinctive purple hue from trace amounts of manganese. This crushed purple jade is from Turkey and is of superb quality (grade AAA). Our powdered material consists of mostly silt and clay sized particles. Our powders do have a slight grit to them. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.  Mineral Properties Mohs’s Hardness: 6.5 - 7 Specific Gravity (g/cm3): 3.25 - 3.34 Luster: Opaque, Dull Color: Purple, Lavender Origin: Turkey This product is not man-made, mixed with resin, dyed, or stabilized.
