ABOUT LAPIS LAZULI A Lapis lazuli is a rock that is composed of three important minerals: 1) lazurite (royal blue), 2) calcite (white), and 3) pyrite (metallic gold). This lapis (grade A) is from Pakistan and has a very deep blue color that is mixed with dark royal blue and white hues. This material darkens and deepens when the stone is wet - it is absolutely gorgeous and will give your projects that special "pop", while still being affordable.  Our lapis lazuli A has more calcite (white) than our crushed Lapis AA or AAA products, with approximately 25-40% calcite and 60-75% lazurite. This dilution makes the lapis powder slightly less rich in color compared to the Lapis AA and Lapis AAA powders, but way more affordable in price.  MATERIAL SIZE Our powdered material consists of mostly silt and clay sized particles (&lt;0.25mm).
