Jet is an organic black rock that is relatively soft, making it easy to carve and polish. Jet forms when pieces of woody material are buried in sediment and are compacted and heated. Unlike coal, jet has a brilliant luster (shiny), which is perfect for creating stunning art and jewelry. This crushed jet comes from the United States and is very high quality with no impurities. Our coarse material is considered to be pea-sized gravel, ranging between 4 millimeters to 2 millimeters. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.
