Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth's crust. Many gemstones, such as amethyst, rose quartz, and citrine, are quartz varieties that have trace amounts of other elements within their crystalline structure. These trace elements produce the variety of colors that we see in quartz. Just like other minerals, quartz can have inclusions and can vary in clarity. This particular quartz is from Brazil and has great clarity with little to no inclusions. This type of quartz is also known as "rock crystal".   Our powdered material consists of mostly silt and clay sized particles. Our powders do have a slight grit to them.
