Summer Championship Chess Tournament, 8/16

See who's playing Grades K-12Saturday, August 16th, 1pm - 5pmPozez Jewish Community Center, 8900 Little River Turnpike, Fairfax, VA 22031 This tournament has six different sections for players depending on their age and skill.  Participants play only against opponents in their own section.  The first round is at 1:00pm for all sections.  The tournament concludes around 5:00pm with an awards ceremony where the top players and top school receive trophies. * Players should arrive at 12:45pm* The first round begins at 1:00pm* All sections are non-elimination, and all players participate in all four rounds* We provide FREE US Chess Federation memberships for all participants, a $17 value!* For players using chess clocks, the time control is G/25 with a 5-second time delay* Per the rules of the JCC, ALL food brought into the building must be Kosher.   There are three beginner sections for players in their first tournament, or who've played in tournaments but are rated below the threshold: G
