An osprey is a magnificent bird whenever you're lucky enough to see one, but if it has just plucked a fish from the ocean, that's a dramatic moment indeed. This shot was taken from the beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, during a hot summer when the ocean currents and winds often took the fish and the osprey elsewhere along the coast. But somehow I got lucky.
