Wild Card (Bicycle) - Trick
A new, different and really wild premise! (It was when we first wrote our ad copy, back in the early 1960s!) Frank Garcia came up with this handling based on Peter Kane’s Watch the Ace, which used the same type of gaffed card this trick uses. These are the original instructions written by Garcia. The magician takes out 9 cards. He shows that 8 of the 9 cards are identical, and one, the wild card, is of a different suit and value. All are slowly shown and counted. The packet of 9 cards is placed in the left hand, face down, 4 of the cards are dealt on the table face down, 4 are dealt face up to the right of four face down cards. Magician is left holding the "wild" card. He taps the backs of the 4 face down cards and when turned over, each has gone “wild" and become the suit and value of the wild card. Then, the face up cards are caused to change to the "wild" card suit and value, which is a stunner for the audience. This is one of the most popular tricks among card men in recent years.
