Sabino in Spring - Each year, I participate in Tucson Lifestyle’s reader contest where the winner receives a commissioned painting of her choice. In 2011, the winner chose Sabino Canyon and asked that I include the following: saguaros, mountains, rocks and water. My husband and I hiked along the tram road until we found the perfect spot near the top of the Canyon. I hadn’t been to Sabino Canyon for several years and had forgotten what spectacular scenery lies hidden just at the end of Sunrise Drive. —Diana Madaras
