Original Alcohol Ink Abstract Painting | "Metamorphosis" | 9"x12"
This original alcohol ink painting features blue and gold alcohol inks with white marker accents on black synthetic paper. The inspiration behind this painting is rooted in the concept of seasons of transition. Life often guides us into challenging periods where we must change, transform, and evolve. These times often signify the end of something old—whether it be ways of thinking, patterns of behavior, or even relationships. However, it is during these seasons that we are stretched and presented with opportunities for growth, allowing us to reveal another layer of our authentic selves. While these transitions can be messy and painful, they also offer healing and immensely rewarding experiences. I chose to use a black substrate to represent those seemingly "liminal space" seasons where things seem muddled or confusing, juxtaposed with gold and blue, which, to me, symbolize hope and resilience, and the promise of a better outcome if we continue to persevere.
