Description Light/Soil/Water Hardiness Senecio scaposus, commonly known as Woolly Senecio, The Silver Spider, or Silver Coral, is a stemless small succulent of up to 4 inches (10 cm) long. Its leaves are fleshy, spike-shaped and covered with a powdery green white layer. This coating serves as a protecting cover for the plant to reflect sunlight and avoid overheating or sunburn; it may shed as the plant ages. Woolly Senecio produces bright yellow daisy-like flowers in the summer. Plants may be shipped bare root. Full sun to Light shade. Porous and well-drained potting soil. Replenish nutrients in the soil every now and then. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. Reduce watering to a minimum in the winter. Feed annually but lightly because too much fertilizer can cause etiolation. You can propagate Senecio scaposus from seed or stem cuttings. Warm temperature at 55˚F / 13˚C and constant moisture are ideal for their seeds to germinate. P
