Press the iron straight down for 35-45 seconds with as much constant pressure as possible. Do not move the iron back and forth. 4. Turn the garment inside-out and repeat steps 2 & 3. Fabrics like denim and cotton provide the best base for iron-on patches. Delicate fabrics such as polyester or silk may burn or discolor due to the high heat necessary to adhere patches.
