Parcel of Quartz Druzy Fossil Shells TC361
Parcel of Quartz Druzy Fossil Shells Approx. Dimensions: xx inches Approx. Weight: 22.8 grams Locality: Central India You will receive all of the shells shown in the picture. Quarter is for scale. Acrylic stand and putty not included. These completely agatized and quartz druzy-replaced fossil shells are estimated to be over 100 million years old. Found in Central India which was once under the prehistoric sea Tethys, these druzy shells are embedded in an extremely hard matrix requiring them to be extracted by hand. Less than 5% of the shells extracted have the desirable druzy formations seen here. These shells exhibit unusual left hand coiling, which is a rarity in fossil shells. Historically, left hand coiling shells have been associated with great metaphysical powers in the Hindu, Buddhist, and Tibetan cultures. Called "Dakshinavarti" in ancient Sanskrit, these shells were associated with Vishnu, Preserver from the Holy Trinity of Hinduism.
