Redfish

The redfish (or red drum) is perhaps one of the most iconic gamefish in the coastal south! Few things compare to fishing the flats and feeling that characteristic “thump” of a redfish sucking down the lure.Adult redfish feed on crabs, shrimp, mullet, pinfish (featured here) sea robin, lizardfish and more. I am beyond thankful for the work of countless organizations protecting and conserving redfish populations here in Florida, where habitat loss and water quality severely threaten this important species.
