Beautiful Majolica Birds & Grapes Plate, Made in Germany, 7.5”

This is a beautiful pale blue majolica plate made in Germany circa early 20th century. This piece is exquisitely done with a gorgeous robins egg blue background and beautifully hand painted birds in shades of blue, pink and yellow accompanied by pink and green leaves and purple bunches of grapes all in a raised design. The border has a lovely swirl raised design and gives a nice finish to this beautiful plate. It's marked on the back with an impressed number 230 and stamped in black "made in Germany, Zell am Hamersbach surrounding a S inside a larger G" with these marks attributing this piece to George Schmeider of Zell, Germany. It's in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, but some slight crazing is present due to age. There are three tiny imperfections on the back from the time of manufacture. This plate will be beautiful displayed in a cabinet or plate wall and is a great addition to any majolica collection. Measures 7.75" in diameter
