The base is 3 plus pounds and made of metal. The stem is made of metal as well. The height can be adjusted from 7.7" to 9.75" in height. The package comes with a locking face plate with a release lever to accommodate the button type mount found on the back of the Uniden SDS100 and the BCD436HP. The mount works great with the larger long life battery that is on the SDS100.
