Bachelor Buttons seed sampler

  Bachelor Buttons (assorted color) Centaurea cyanus (full sun, zone 2-11, tolerant of poor soils, easy to grow) You will receive a 1/4 teaspoon of seeds from my garden.  These are a cottage favorite and one of the sweetest blue old fashioned flowers. Colors will be assorted but many could be blue in your selection.  They grow mostly at waist to shoulder height (depending on your conditions) on soft green stems and stand upright in a wind protected garden. They make really sweet cut flowers for a small vase. Cutting early in the season as the lead flowers bloom will promote a bushier growth habit.  They are delicate little buttons of soft flowers surrounding a central point and a favorite of pollinators. As they dry the seed heads start as little teardrop shapes and over time will dry out and open into a star pattern to release their seeds.  Because of the extensive information about seeds/plants, I encourage each customer to look up the information that pertains to their specific questions.
