Our favorite EVERGREEN plant for EXTREMELY SHADY spots in the garden, under roof overhangs or on porches, decks and patios which receive little or no sunlight at all. Aspidistra will thrive even it receives no direct sunlight, making it one of the few options for such spots. When planting in a container, it is perfectly ok to buy two or three 1-gallon plants and jam them close together to form one large clump, since this is how plants grow naturally.
