In-Orbit Orb-Weaver, 2024

In-Orbit Orb-Weaver, 2024Found objects (camera parts, watch parts, electronics, transformer wire), pressure-cast urethane resin, alum/brass hanger. The title is derived from the small, circular, watch parts/bits on the abdomen that appear like a series of small plantets in a solar system. This is one of the first three orb-weavers in the Mech-Fossil series. This cast does have two tiny dark flecks in the clear resin highlighted in the last photo. These flecks could be carbonized 'skin' from the legs that were annealed with high heat in order for me to bend them.
