A Lightened flywheel helps with throttle response and makes the bike rev faster between shifts. Which in turn makes it pull harder when shifting gears. Although engine braking effect will be a little more noticeable with a lightened flywheel.  This is a must have mod for any serious racer. All legacy minis bikes are running a lightened fly wheel.
