"The Saddle Series - Devoucoux Biarritz I"

THE STORY: This oil painting of a Devoucoux Biarritz I saddle is painted on an 8x8" panel with an 10x10" open grain wood frame. At a glance it looks like dark brown and grey paint were only used to paint this, right? If you look closer, you'll notice beautiful hues of Ultramarine Blue, Payne's Grey Violet, Purple Lake, Burnt Umber, and a hint of Raw Sienna all layered together to create this gorgeous Devoucoux saddle. 5 hours and 5 minutes went into creating this painting. Was it brought along to horse shows? Maybe a little girl struggled to throw it over a school pony's back every Wednesday after school.
