THE STORY: The first time I saw this horse while scrolling through social media, I knew he needed a painting. “Libby in Silver” features the chilly blue eyes of the showjumper Liberty Son 2, a horse I discovered on social media owned by one of the warmest riders I’ve ever met, Caitlin Creel. I paired Libby’s icy blue eyes and navy bonnet with a silver leaf background to create a cooling effect when displayed next to “Bianca in Gold”, a fiery gold leaf painting I created at the same time as “Libby in Silver”.
