Carnival, 13.5 x 9" painting on reclaimed wood

Something old and worn, bright and shiny, dark and strange all at once. "Carnival." This painting is on a very special piece of wood. Found by my husband on a canoe trip down the Williamette River, it has been partially burned. This burning has revealed the wood's inner layers, giving them a rich varied color and left a gorgeous typographical texture. "Carnival" measures approximately 9" across by 13.5" tall. I used mixed media acrylic paint, Prismacolor pencils, charcoal, and metal leaf on reclaimed wood.
