A modern etching on paper titled “Immobile Sun #21” by Adja Yunkers. Hand signed in pencil on the bottom right and dated ’82. Titled bottom right with a B.A.T. annotation mid bottom. A graphic composition depicting abstracted rust red tones with a block of navy blue in the center. Provenance: Alice Simsar Gallery, Ann Arbor. Dimensions: 37”h x 28”w (unframed). In very good vintage condition. Adja Yunkers (1900-1983) was an American abstract painter and printmaker. In Stockholm, he published and edited ARS magazine and Creation magazine. In 1947 he moved to the United States, where he lived for the rest of his life. He held a teaching position at the New School for Social Research in New York while summers were spent teaching at the University of New Mexico. In 1949, he received a Guggenheim Fellowship.
