Antique Silver Plate Ice Bucket found in France

This heavyweight champagne bucket was found in France and is stamped "CARMEN" on the bottom. Although we were not able to identify the maker, this is a very simple rendition of a traditional champagne or ice bucket typical of hotels and restaurants, made to withstand years of usage. We'd love to know the celebrations for which this piece has held a bottle of bubbly. Ring handles on both sides with a light ribbed detail at the top and near the bottom of the piece.  Measures 9"W (handle to handle) x 7.25"D x 8.2"H. Surface wear and patination are present as well as some dents in the surface.
