Acrylic on canvas measuring 12"x12". Framed in a white floating frame. What is Jubilee? The Jubilee year occurrs after every seventh Sabbath year, thus, every 50 years. It’s a symbol of “sabbath” or “reset” when the land and people rest. We live in a time where rest has become less and less important to our culture — for me, rest requires faith that the Lord is going to continue to provide even when I take a day off. In Leviticus 25, the Israelites, God’s chosen people, had recently been set free and are still learning to trust God and have a relationship with him. Just like the Israelites, we are called to trust him in this gift of rest! After all, the number seven in the Bible represents completion and perfection — rest is a part of His perfect plan!
