Vistaite Jasper Rough Chunk!
Vistaite is an old stock Oregon stone that was mined in the Ochoco Mountains of Oregon. It was a highly popular stone back when it was actively mined, and after he got his fill, the original mine owner left the mine to the county as a public mine for all to access. Sadly, the National Forest service decided this was not a good idea and spent tens of thousands of dollars to cover the public deposit with loads of dirt to make it undigable. Still, every once in a rare while some small chips can be found, but any rough on the market is generally going to be old stock material, like what you see here. It is a pretty hard stone, and takes a pretty decent polish. It often has a blue green tint, and can somtimes have rolling hills pattern. It is a pretty neat one to work with for sure! Weight: Approx 1 lbs 4 oz Measurements (inches - longest - approx): 4.3 x 3.1 x 2.2 I do my best to represent the stones with photos. I don't enhance photos, though sometimes brightness and contrast on monitors may differ, and while a photo may look just like the rock on my end, it will sometimes appear brighter or duller on your end. I run my monitor at default brightness and contrast settings.
