The balloon sleeves of this simple top and dress are the only detail that it requires to stand out. The sleeves are gathered with a tie which is threaded through a buttonhole, alternatively you can omit this buttonhole and insert elastic instead. The Edie has a dropped shoulder. You can also extend the top into a dress – we found that the sleeves looked better a little shorter for a dress version Our Edie is made up in organic cotton batiste (it would be so lovely in Liberty Tana Lawn).
