Before moving to United States, she lived and worked in Croatia, South- Eastern Europe. Drawing and painting since she was five years old, art was always her favorite form of communication. She participated and won many national and international competitions which were mainly focused on contemporary art. Abstract expression of Lana's work is deeply based in her life's experiences. While absorbing her art, everyone and anyone can find glimpses, moments, ideas of their own lives, struggles, emotions. Where one would find happiness, another would find a deep abyss of sadness. That polarity is the core and the base of Lana's life story, that was never a linear on an easy path. Her ups as a creator and a deep philosophical approach to life, art and self in general combined, make her art extremely complex, ambiguous and intertwined. He
