This ancient Greek coin pendant is set in bezel set in 22K yellow gold. The front of the coin features Castor and Pollux facing, side by side, one upright, the other inverted. The back is sea-eagle standing on a dolphin. The pendant comes on a 24-inch, 14K yellow gold paperclip link chain. Istros, also known as Histria, was an ancient Greek settlement on the western Dobrudja shore of the Black Sea. This little habitation, located around 300 miles north of Byzantium, was founded by Miletian tradesmen around 657 or 656 BCE. Istros, the earliest Greek colony on the Black Sea, endured for over 14 centuries before being abandoned in the mid-seventh century CE.
