Even for a seasoned lumberjack like me, keeping my chainsaw razor-sharp at all times is anything but a breeze. Every time I got myself a shiny, brand new chainsaw, after trimming just 2 or 3 trees, it goes frustrating dull. The last thing I want is to use a dull chainsaw. First things first, a dull chain teeth makes my work slow. It’s like trying to cut through a thick steak with a butter knife! Instead of smooth, effortless cuts, I’m left yankin’ and pullin’ at the wood, and end up with rough, jagged and ragged edges. On top of everything, dull saws are downright more dangerous than sharp ones – they can jerk back towards, causing severe kickback injuries. Honestly, I’ve seen my fair share of accidents and mishaps caused by dull chainsaw chains. I can’t even think of the hours to remove the chain and get my chainsaw sharpened, only to be left with rougher cutting and faster wear. I’ve also brought several benchtop grinders, but it’s really bulky and heavy, and I can’t take it
