PARKER 60R BUTTERFLY OPEN ETCHED SAFETY RAZOR PARKER SAFETY RAZOR
The Parker 60R razor has a unique etched design which many refer to as "Crystal Cut". It maintaines a sure grip, even with wet hands. The razor is an excellent choice for new wet shavers or those who are prone to cuts because of its lighter weight in comparison to many of our heavier razors. As a result it is more forgiving. Razor type: Butterfly open safety razor Weight: 2 3/4 oz. Length: 4 in. Handle material: Genuine brass frame, crystal cut chrome plated HOW TO USE A SAFETY RAZOR FOR A CLOSE SHAVE STEP 1: PREPARE YOUR SKIN FOR SHAVING The best time to shave is after you’ve washed or exfoliated your skin, preferably after your shower. Steam softens hair making it easier to shave. STEP 2: APPLICATION OF SHAVE CREAM/SOAP Using a quality pre-shave oil and shave cream or shave soap will lubricate and protect your skin from the blade, lessening irritation. Add water to rehydrate as needed. Use a shave brush to lift facial hair & more evenly disperse the lather. STEP 3: LET THE RAZOR DO THE WORK Using a fresh blade, start shaving in the direction of your hair growth at a 30 degree angle. Hold your razor firmly and use short strokes. Don’t add pressure or push the blade into your skin (tread lightly with slow, short mindful strokes). A heavyweight safety razor should glide across your skin. STEP 4: NECK AREA– GO WITH THE GRAIN The neck area can be challenging since hair grows in different directions around the Adam’s apple. Shave with the grain for your first pass for less irritation. Some people like to re-lather and shave again against the grain for a second pass, but if you have sensitive skin, skip this step. STEP 5: LIP, CHIN, LEGS, BIKINI AREA Shave these tough spots last after your hair has been softened. Use your free hand to stretch your skin, creating a flat area for your blade to shave. When shaving around the ankles, shins and knees, tread lightly and try to flatten the area by straightening your leg. STEP 6: RINSE WITH COLD WATER Follow your shave with a splash of cold water and rinse your razor and brush well. STEP 7: APPLY AFTERSHAVE BALM OR SPLASH Finish by applying a soothing aftershave balm or splash. These products contain healing, toning and moisturizing ingredients to keep skin feeling its best. Consider using an alum block as an antiseptic to tighten your skin and treat minor nicks.
